Breaking Ground on Second Spec Building in Cherry Glen
The Cherry Glen Industrial Park, with over 300 acres ready for development, was certified as a Select Tennessee Certified Site in 2014. Located directly on Hwy 43 , it can be easily serviced by the the Port of Florence via a four-lane divided highway, or by rail to an unloading dock located within five miles of the park.
Last year, Cherry Glen was recertified as a Select TN site and now plans are moving forward to build a second spec building in the industrial park.
The development of this spec building has been made possible by a joint project between the City of Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Pleasant Power System, Maury County, the Industrial Development Board of Maury County and the Maury Alliance. The first spec building built by this partnership was sold within six months of completion and is currently occupied by Smalticeram, an Italian ceramics supplier that specializes in frits, grits, and inks used in the ceramics industry.
The plan for the new spec building calls for a 50,000 square foot metal shell building and one of the walls has been designed for potential expansion. Doss Brothers, Inc. has already began construction on the building.
